Didn't get enough of the fireworks this July 4? Then, you're in luck. July 12 is the city of Alexandria, Virginia's birthday!
Come to Oronoco Bay Park for the celebration anytime between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. Festivities include cake, a performance by the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra, and, of course, fireworks!

Jazz in the Garden at The National Gallery of Art
Free jazz music in the garden? Yep, that's right. Now through Aug. 29, come to the National Gallery of Art on Fridays from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to hear a wide array of jazz artists.

Capital Fringe Festival
From July 10 to July 27, the Capital Fringe Festival will feature a wide variety of shows. A $5 Fringe button is required for entrance into any show at the festival, plus an additional $17 for certain performances. Buttons and tickets can be bought at Fort Fringe, in D.C.

Millennium Stage at The Kennedy Center
Millennium Stage at The Kennedy Center features free shows every day. Upcoming performances include the Washington National Opera Institute Saturday, July 12, and the Eastern Music Festival Piano Program on Monday, July 14.

A blast from the past, the Alexandria Harmonizers is a men's barbershop chorus who has performed in venues that include Carnegie Hall, The White House and Wolf Trap.

47th Annual Maryland Seafood Festival
The 47th annual Maryland Seafood Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 6 and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 7 at Sandy Point State Park.
Ticket prices start at $15 for general admission. Kids 12 and under are free. The festival features lots of seafood vendors as well as activities for kids. A full list of scheduled events will be on the festival's website in the weeks to come.

Adams Morgan Day
Live in or near Adams Morgan? Sept. 14 from noon until 7 p.m. is Adams Morgan Day.
This annual festival features live music, food from around the world and cultural dances and demonstrations. There's even a Kids Fair that includes games and interactive exhibits.
