Air Force AD Hans Mueh announces retirement

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) — Air Force athletic director Hans Mueh is announcing his retirement, effective at the end of the upcoming academic year.

This will be Mueh’s 11th year as AD and 43rd overall at the academy.

A retired Air Force brigadier general, Mueh was vice dean of faculty for two years prior to his retirement from active duty in the summer of 2004 and his appointment as athletic director.

During his tenure, Air Force’s men’s basketball team has played in two NCAA tournaments and reached the NIT’s Final Four, the men’s hockey team has won five league titles and reached the NCAA tournament five times and the flagship football program has played in six bowl games.
