St Francis (Pa) edges Sacred Heart 30-27

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) — Zach Drayer had four touchdowns and Lance Geesey kicked the winning 35-yard field goal Saturday to lift St. Francis (Pa) to its first Northeast Conference win of the season, 30-27 over Sacred Heart.

St. Francis (3-5, 1-2) had built a 27-10 lead in the third quarter but Sacred Heart (6-2, 2-1) scored 17 straight points to tie the game with 9:49 to go. Drayer, who finished 13 of 21 for 242 yards, then engineered a 10-play, 49-yard drive to set up Geesey’s kick with 5:28 left, and Dave Coleman cemented the win with an interception at midfield to end Sacred Heart’s final drive.

Anthony Abeid caught two TD passes and, in a role reversal, threw a 33-yard TD strike to Drayer in the first quarter. Cole Bush also caught a TD pass for the Red Flash, which has scored at least 21 points in nine straight games.
