Youngstown State tops Southern Illinois 26-14

YOUNGSTOWN, Oh. (AP) — Jody Webb scored two rushing touchdowns to lead Youngstown State to a 26-14 win over Southern Illinois Saturday.

Webb ran in a 9-yard touchdown with 8:31 remaining to give Youngstown State the two-score lead. Youngstown State mounted a 13-play, 72-yard drive, lasting the final 6:59, to secure the win.

Webb ran 11 times for 88 yards and two scores and Hunter Wells threw for 269 yards and a touchdown on 21-of-28 passing for Youngstown State (5-2, 2-1 Missouri Valley). Webb’s 19-yard touchdown gave Youngstown State a 17-0 halftime lead.

Mark Iannotti threw two touchdown passes in the third quarter for Southern Illinois (5-3, 2-2), highlighted by a 62-yarder to Tay Willis. MyCole Pruitt’s 2-yard touchdown reception pulled Southern Illinois within 20-14 with 1:53 remaining in the third.

Iannotti completed 12 of 22 passes for 139 yards and Willis finished with four catches for 97 yards.
