New Hampshire fast start torches Dartmouth, 52-19

DURHAM, N.H. (AP) — Andy Vailas threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more and New Hampshire scored 17 points in the first six minutes of the game and rolled to a 52-19 nonconference win over Dartmouth Saturday.

Vailas raced 69 yards for the opening touchdown barely three minutes into the game and R.J. Harris scored on a two-point conversion to make it 8-0. Dartmouth surrendered a safety on fourth and 6 at its own 19 5:01 into the game and Jimmy Owens plowed in from the 1 with 9:08 left.

Vailas was 17 of 26 for 219 yards and two touchdowns and carried eight times for 112 yards and two more touchdowns for New Hampshire (3-1). Owens carried 15 times for 81 yards and two touchdowns, and Harris caught eight passes for 113 yards and two scores.

Dalyn Williams was 12 of 23 for 108 yards and two touchdowns for Dartmouth (1-1).
