William & Mary rallies to beat Lafayette 33-19

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) — Steve Cluley threw for a touchdown and ran in two more to rally William & Mary to a 33-19 comeback win over Lafayette on Saturday night.

Trailing 19-9 at the break, the Tribe (3-1) took control in the second half, scoring 24 straight points and holding Lafayette (1-2) scoreless. Cluley was 8 of 18 for 141 yards passing and also was the team’s top rusher with 87 yards on 13 carries.

Kendell Anderson punched in a touchdown from the 3 to put the Tribe on the board in the first quarter and also grabbed a 4-yard TD pass to spark the second half rally. Cornerback DeAndre Houston-Carson ran back a blocked Lafayette PAT kick for two points in the second quarter, and John Carpenter had a career-long 49-yard field goal.

Ross Scheuerman ran for 160 yards on 20 carries, including a 72-yard TD, for Lafayette.
