Perish, Indiana State push past Ball State 27-20

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) — Mike Perish threw for three touchdowns, including a late go-ahead score to Kyani Harris to give Indiana State a 27-20 victory over Ball State on Saturday as the teams faced off for the first time since 2003.

Perish’s 28-yard pass to Harris snapped a 20-20 tie. Indiana State (2-1) trailed 14-3, but two TD passes from Perish — 25 yards and 2 yards, respectively — put the Sycamores up 17-14 at the half.

Scott Secor kicked two field goals for Ball State in the third quarter to tie the score. Perish led a 7-play, 63 yard drive that ended with Harris’ TD reception with 3:50 left to play.

Ozzie Mann threw for 266 yards and one touchdown for the Cardinals (1-2).

The Indiana State vs. Ball State game is played for the Victory Bell, which was returned to the Sycamores for the first time since 1987.
