Balancing a family and a job is not easy, but for Estee Delauter-Burgess, a wonderful family and a flexible schedule are a big help.

Delauter-Burgess, 29, is a sales associate at Zebop on South Market Street in downtown Frederick. She has worked for five years at the clothing store, selling what she describes as fun, funky fashion.

“A day working at Zebop can be lots of fun,” Delauter-Burgess said. “I get to work with beautiful clothes all day while jamming out to some awesome tunes.”

She and her husband, Steve, have two children, Quinna, 7, and Ava, 2, and live in Middletown.

“Being a mother to two young girls can be tough, but we somehow make it all work,” Delauter-Burgess said. Her parents and in-laws help her and her husband, who works as a parts salesman for Tate auto dealership.

Zebop opena at 11 a.m., leaving time for Delauter-Burgess to have breakfast with her family and get her older daughter to the school bus in time.

After work at about 6 p.m., she has dinner with her family, helps Quinna with her homework and gets everyone to bed.

Quinna enjoys helping her mother at the store by dressing mannequins, rearranging jewelry and talking to customers.

“At home her favorite game to play is Zebop,” Delauter-Burgess said.

Quinna will get out all her dress-up clothes and put them on display, and she pretends to be her mother while her mother pretends to be a customer, Delauter-Burgess said.

Quinna and her sister also put on fashion shows in the living room.

“They are both very fond of Mommy’s high-heeled shoe collection,” Delauter-Burgess said.

Quinna took part in Zebop’s Sept. 15 fashion show for Frederick Fashion Week at the Cultural Arts Center.

“She did an amazing job,” Delauter-Burgess said. “Quinna just may have a career as a fashion model in her future. She almost stole the show away from all of our other fabulous models.”

Delauter-Burgess went to Quinna’s school for career day last year and did a fashion activity with scarves.

“Now all the kids refer to me as ‘the fashion lady.'”

Delauter-Burgess said plans for Zebop are to “keep doing what we do best,” offering Frederick residents and visitors fun, funky fashions.
