WASHINGTON – Sarah Cooper got more than a degree when she crossed the stage at American University’s graduation ceremony on Saturday – she got a husband, too.
The School of Public Affairs graduate had just accepted her diploma and was exiting the stage when she – and everyone else – saw her boyfriend, Sam Miller, down on one knee in front of her.
“I’ve got a question for you,” Miller said. “Will you marry me?”
The crowd went wild, and after a moment the loudspeaker confirmed what everyone could tell by looking at the kissing couple, “She said yes.”
