Three Firefighters Injured in Apartment Fire

June 19, 2007 - 7:00am
TEMPLE HILLS, Md. - Three Prince George's County firefighters are being treated for injuries they received while battling a fire in Temple Hills.

The blaze broke out just after 4 a.m. Tuesday in the utility room of a garden-style apartment building in the 4200 block of 28th Avenue.

The electrical fire was quickly extinguished but two buildings are currently without power, Prince George's Fire and EMS spokesman Maj. Chauncey Bowers says.

Bowers says one firefighter touched energized electrical wiring and is being evaluated at Washington Hospital Center.

Two other firefighters fell while battling the blaze and are being treated.

An estimate of the damage has not been determined.
