Fans Will Shell Out Big Bucks for Nats Parking

January 21, 2008 - 10:37am
Adam Tuss, WTOP Radio

WASHINGTON -- Parking at the new Nationals ballpark won't come cheap for season ticket holders.

The Nationals recently mailed brochures explaining the parking situation to all season ticket holders.

The parking system is divided into four zones -- red, blue, orange and green -- according to their distance from the stadium.

Season ticket holders for all 81 games who want to park as closely as possible to the stadium will pay $2,835 a year, which averages to $35 a game.

The farther season ticket holders park, the cheaper the cost. The lowest parking option comes to $1,215 for the entire season.

Ticket holders are being told to rank their preferred zones and pay for the parking in full by Jan. 28 to ensure a spot.

However, fans with parking plans won't have to shell out for parking for one game -- the March 29 exhibition game against the Baltimore Orioles.
