Hit-and-Run Driver Strikes 2 American U. Students

March 16, 2007 - 8:58am
WASHINGTON - One American University student is in critical condition and another injured after a hit-and-run.

It happened just before 11 p.m. Thursday on Nebraska Avenue. Metropolitan Police say the two pedestrians -- a man and a woman -- were struck by a light blue Honda and that the driver then fled on foot. The man is in critical condition.

Investigators are still looking for the driver. They have been in touch with the owner of the car who apparently let a friend use the vehicle. The owner is cooperating with police.
