Cancer-free Alexandria girl gets her wish to be a pop star (Video)

WASHINGTON — An Alexandria, Virginia 5-year-old who beat cancer had her wish granted by Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic, and now her video is going viral.

Addy’s wish was to be a pop star in a music video — and she really pulls it off!

Addy sings “Roar” by her favorite artist Katy Perry while a camera follows her evolution from a hairbrush-microphone wielding want-to-be, to a school talent show stand-out, to a limo riding autograph signing celebrity, to a spectacular Redskins halftime show star.

Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic, in a news release, gives thanks to the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation “for their generous support in helping to grant this wish experience.”

Addy’s YouTube video has been seen more than 333,000 times.

The make-believe pop-star-video is a glorious achievement for Addy. She is celebrating another astounding development.

Addy now is cancer-free after being diagnosed with stage IV metastatic cancer when she was 4 and enduring countless long hospital visits, chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

If you’d like to help a child like Addy, Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic has a list of ways to help.
