Hard Feelings Linger From Primary – The selection of Dana Beyer for induction into the Montgomery County Human Rights Hall of Fame has some unhappy, including Town of Somerset Mayor Jeffrey Slavin. Beyer will be inducted for her LGBT activism. She also ran and lost against District 18 State Sen. Rich Madaleno in a contentious primary race earlier this year. Madaleno, who is gay, is also a major proponent for LGBT rights. Slavin called on Montgomery Office of Human Rights Director James Stowe to cancel Beyer’s induction. [Washington Post]

Rapid Transit Status Update Monday – Western Montgomery County Citizens Advisory Board members are scheduled to get a status report on the county’s Bus Rapid Transit planning, plus a briefing on the Westbard Sector Plan and more information on the Old Georgetown Road design controversy in White Flint. Glendening To Join In White Flint Walking Tour – Speaking of Old Georgetown Road, the group that criticized Montgomery County for its plans there will host a walking tour on Saturday with former Gov. Parris Glendenning, who’s now the president of a smart growth group. The tour is set for 9:15 a.m. on Saturday starting at the Pike Central Farmers Market, located at the corner of Executive Boulevard and Old Georgetown Road. [Friends of White Flint]
