Christie Helps Raise $400,000 For Hogan at Redwood – New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie showed up at a fundraiser for Maryland Republican gubernatorial candidate Larry Hogan on Wednesday afternoon. Christie told reporters the race between Hogan and Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown is closing before walking into the Redwood restaurant on Bethesda Lane. According to the Hogan campaign, 62 people attended and donated a total of more than $400,000. [Baltimore Sun]

White Flint Group Identifies Pedestrian/Bike Priorities – The Friends of White Flint, a group of residents, business owners and developer representatives, has identified five “points of focus” when it comes to improving pedestrian and bicyclist safety in the area. One is finding a solution for the intersection of Executive Boulevard and Rockville Pike. Another is pushing for more bicycle infrastructure and the eventual introduction of Capital Bikeshare. Changes Coming To Newton’s Table – The restaurant at 4917 Elm St. is lowering its prices, changing its menu and making some adjustments to its space in an attempt to draw in a lunch crowd and make the eatery more casual. [Bethesda Magazine]

C&O Canal Committee Likely To Be Reinstated – Members of Maryland’s Congressional delegation on Wednesday announced legislation to reinstate the C&O Canal National Historical Park Commission has passed both houses of Congress and will go to the president’s desk to be signed in to law. The Commission gives communities near the park a say in park projects and historic preservation issues, but its authority expired in 2011. [Chris Van Hollen]
