MCPS, Leggett To Announce YOLO Campaign – Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett, MCPS Superintendent Joshua Starr and others will announce a new pedestrian safety campaign for county teens called YOLO (You Only Live Once). A press event is set for Wednesday at Seneca Valley High School in Germantown, where a 15-year-old student was killed while crossing the street in 2012. [MCPS]

Bethesda Native Pleads Guilty To Making Ricin – A former Georgetown student and Walt Whitman High School graduate pleaded guilty on Monday to making ricin in his dorm room. Daniel Milzman, 19, faces up to two years in prison at sentencing. [NBCWashington]

BOE Candidates Forum – The Walt Whitman High School PTA cluster will host a forum for Board of Education candidates on Wednesday, Oct. 15 in Potomac. All eight candidates (two candidates are running for each of the four open seats) are expected to attend. The event is set for 7 p.m. at the River Falls Clubhouse (7915 Horseshoe Lane, Potomac).

Gallery B October Exhibit – Painters Gongsan Kim and Chris Luckman and sculpture artist George Tkabladze will put their works on display for Gallery B October’s exhibit. The gallery (7700 Wisconsin Ave., Suite E) will be open Oct. 1-25, Wednesday-Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. The opening reception will coincide with the Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District’s monthly Bethesda Art Walk from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10.
