Weekly Crime Report: Aug. 25 to Sept. 2

An early-morning robbery at the Glen Echo 7-Eleven leads this week’s 2nd District crime summary:

A commercial robbery occurred at the 7-Eleven located at 7305 MacArthur Boulevard in Glen Echo on Wednesday, 8/27 at approximately 4:00 a.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspect: B/M, 5’6″, all black clothing, gloves, bandana mask

A residential burglary occurred in the 7100 block of Lenhart Drive in Chevy Chase on Tuesday, 9/2 between 6:00 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.

A commercial office burglary occurred at the GWU Medical Faculty Assoc, 4920 Elm Street in Bethesda on Wednesday, 8/27 between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Unknown entry; property taken.

An indecent exposure occurred in the 6800 Glenbrook Road in Bethesda on the morning of Tuesday, 8/26. An arrest was made.

Arrested: Male, age 43, from Partlow, VA 

A residential burglary/stolen vehicle occurred during the evening hours of Wednesday, 8/27 at a gas station parking lot located at 10616 Connecticut Avenue in Kensington (keys had been left inside the vehicle) and used that vehicle to drive to the 9900 block of Old Spring Road. Attempted forced entry; items taken from vehicles — an arrest was made.

Arrested: Male, age 43, from Kensington 

A theft from vehicle occurred in the 3300 block of Wake Drive in Kensington on Tuesday, 8/26 at 1:00 a.m. Unknown entry; cash taken.

Two thefts from vehicles occurred in the Marriott Lot, 5701 Marinelli Road in North Bethesda during the daytime hours of Saturday, 8/30 and Tuesday, 9/2. Entry was forced and purses were taken.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 4700 block of Willard Avenue in Chevy Chase on Saturday, 8/30 at 2:00 a.m. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 4800 block of Bayard Boulevard in Bethesda between 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, 8/30 and 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, 8/31. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

Two attempted vehicle thefts occurred in the 5200 block of Western Avenue in Chevy Chase sometime during the day on Tuesday, 8/26. Attempts were made to steal two different vehicles parked in the lot at this location but neither attempt was successful.
