What To Call White Flint/North Bethesda “What’s In A Name,” a conversation about what to call the redeveloping area around the White Flint Metro station is set for Thursday at 6 p.m. at the offices of Streetsense (3 Bethesda Metro). Metro To Test Out New Fare Payment System – Metro will soon let riders pay for their fare with a simple touch of the phone or contactless credit and debit cards when it rolls out a pilot of 10 Metrorail stations that will have new fare gate technology. The Bethesda station is one of the stations that will have the new technology starting in January. If all goes well, Metro says it will replace its decades-old fare gates and vending machines at all stations and aboard all buses starting in 2017. [Metro]
