Bethesda Philanthropist Donates To Another Park Project – Bethesda billionaire David Rubenstein will donate $12.35 million to the National Park Service so it can rehabilitate the house, grounds and slave quarters at the historic Arlington House, the well known structure overlooking the Arlington National Cemetery where Confederate general Robert E. Lee lived before the Civil War. Rubenstein had previously donated money to help repair the Washington Monument. [Washington Post]

MCFRS Gets Federal Fire Prevention Grant – Rep. Chris Van Hollen on Thursday announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency has awarded a $86,540 grant to the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service. The grant will support firefighter safety and research and development of activities to prevent deaths and injuries caused by fire-related emergencies.

Citizens Advisory Board To Meet Monday – The Western Montgomery County Citizens Advisory Board will meet Monday at 7 p.m. to discuss priorities for the next year.
