Report: New Apartment Rents Falling – According to a second quarter 2014 report from analyst Delta Associates, the average Class A apartment rent in Bethesda fell 4.7 percent from where it was at the same time in 2013. Class A apartments are classified as ones built after 1991 with full amenity packages. An influx of new apartment buildings in Bethesda likely had something to do with the numbers. The average Class A apartment rent in Bethesda was $2,568 a month. [Urban Turf]

Members of Council Introduce ‘Ban The Box’ Bill – Five members of Council support a bill that would prevent certain employers in Montgomery County from conducting criminal background checks or other inquiries into a job applicant’s criminal record. Walling Elected To Chair Local Democratic Party – Chevy Chase resident Kevin Walling was elected Monday as the new chair of the Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee.
