Say Hello To Loo-Cille, Union Hardware’s Latest Creation

Union Hardware's David Goldberg rides Union Hardware's David Goldberg with Bethesda Boards and Scooters co-owner Kaare Wieneke

Union Hardware co-owner David Goldberg took his latest creation out for a spin on Saturday, to the surprise of many walking around Woodmont Triangle.

The latest is a toilet on four wheels, powered by two universal batteries and complete with toilet paper and a magazine for reading. It’s called Loo-Cille, which Goldberg built from his Bethesda showroom for last month’s Capital Pride Parade.

Goldberg’s Starry Night, made from doorknobs and installed on the Norfolk Avenue side of his building, has become a public art favorite. The toilet is a little bit different.

He stopped by Bethesda Scooters and Boards, where co-owner Kaare Wieneke offered to install some brakes on the contraption. Goldberg wasn’t sure. Building the piece has already left a few dents in his Wisconsin Avenue showroom.
