Heckman's Delicatessen, Cordell Avenue

Bethesda’s newest Jewish style deli is now open in Woodmont Triangle.

Heckman’s Delicatessen (4914 Cordell Ave.) opened Sunday and had about 75 people come through, said Ronnie Heckman.

Heckman and his friend Marc Rosemond, who worked at another area deli, will run the restaurant with the financial backing of Ronnie’s father Eric Heckman.

Breakfast will be served all day. Appetizers include knish ($4), potato latkes ($7) and gefilte fish ($3). The brisket will run you $11, Memes Stuffed Cabbage $11), and the Marc’s Fried Chicken $10.

The deli sandwiches range from $8 to $15 and include all the deli staples and more, such as a chopped liver, grilled cheese and bacon and an Italian hoagie. The $23 sandwich is The Big G — a pound and a half of corned beef with coleslaw and Thousand Island dressing on rye.

The deli is hiring. Call 240-800-4879 for more info.
