BGE Customers Offer Advice On Pepco Sale – The Baltimore Sun’s editorial page offered some advice to Pepco customers who will soon see their electricity company sold to Chicago-based Exelon. Baltimore Gas & Electric was recently bought by Exelon. The paper said Pepco customers should push for big concessions in the deal and that the $100 million in rate credits and other assistance for consumers that Exelon is promising is just a starting point. Bethesda Outdoor Movies Lineup – Bethesda Outdoor Movies will be back at 9 p.m. on July 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26. The Bethesda Urban Partnership event will place the big screen at the corner of Norfolk and Auburn Avenues in Woodmont Triangle. This year’s lineup: “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” “Moonrise Kingdom,” “Citizen Kane,” “Pitch Perfect,” and “Top Gun.” [Bethesda Urban Partnership]

Decision On Energy Tax Reduction Will Have To Wait – The Montgomery County Council will wait until budget reconciliation time later this month before making a final call on a proposal to reduce the county’s energy tax by 10 percent. Councilmembers Phil Andrews and Roger Berliner proposed the reduction of the tax, which would mean a loss of an estimated $11.5 million in tax revenue in next fiscal year’s budget. The county raised the energy tax by 100 percent in 2010 in a move that was supposed to sunset after two years. The tax remains at its 2010 and 2011 levels. [The Gazette]
