Road Resurfacing To Bring Lane Closures – A new batch of resurfacing work on state roads is set to begin soon and run until late summer. The State Highway Administration said the overlay projects will mean the removal of the top layer of asphalt, resurfacing and installment of new pavement markings on a number of area roads. The work will mean lane closures between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and up to two lanes closed during work between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. [State Highway Administration]

Uber Could Be On The Way Out – A judge with the Maryland Public Service Commission last week said ridesharing service Uber should be subject to the same regulations as taxis. The PSC vote will come in May. [Baltimore Sun]

Students March To Close Achievement Gap In MCPS – A couple hundred MCPS students marched through Rockville on Sunday to call for an end to the achievement gap between white students and minority students in the well regarded school system. Many said more funding for the system’s minority scholars program, which began at Walter Johnson High School in 2005, could be a way to make that happen. [Washington Post]
