Weekly Crime Report: March 10 to March 17

Police are looking into two downtown Bethesda commercial burglaries that happened sometime between Saturday, March 15 and Monday, March 17:

A commercial burglary occurred in the 4900 block of St Elmo Avenue in Bethesda sometime between Saturday, 3/15 and Monday, 3/17. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

A commercial burglary occurred at 7830 Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda on Sunday, 3/16 between 9:15 p.m. and 11:20 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.

A robbery/carjacking occurred in the 100 block of E. Melrose Street in Chevy Chase on Thursday, 3/13 at approximately 10:20 p.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

A weapons violation occurred in the 8400 block of Freyman Drive in Chevy Chase on Friday, 3/14 at approximately 2:00 a.m.

Arrested: Male, age 36, from Chevy Chase

A theft occurred in the 4500 block of East West Highway in Bethesda sometime between Sunday, 3/15 and Monday, 3/17.

An incident of graffiti occurred at Hollowstone Drive and Morning Gate Drive in North Bethesda sometime between Wednesday, 3/12 and Monday, 3/17.

A residential burglary occurred in the 6600 block of Whittier Boulevard in Bethesda on Thursday, 3/13 between 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.

A theft from vehicle occurred in the unit block of Dudley Court in Bethesda overnight between Tuesday, 3/11 and Wednesday, 3/12. No forced entry; property taken.
