Spring Wine Dinner at Black’s Bar & Kitchen — Black’s Bar & Kitchen (7750 Woodmont Ave.) is hosting a special dinner with wine from the Stonestreet Winery in California and a six-course tasting menu from executive chef Dane Sewlall. Stonestreet’s viticultural enologist/winemaker Kristina Werner will be on hand to explain what you’re drinking. The event is Wednesday, March 26 at 7 p.m. It costs $120 per person. “Evidence of Mice” Shuts Down School Kitchen — “Evidence of mice” in the storeroom of the kitchen at Wood Acres Elementary School meant Montgomery County health inspectors had to shut the kitchen down Wednesday. Meals were transported in from the Division of Food and Nutrition Services’ central kitchen facility. The principal of the school sent a letter to parents saying all food in the storeroom was sealed and not exposed. After being cleaned and sanitized, Principal Marita Sherburne said she expects meal service at the cafeteria to start by lunch time Thursday. [WUSA9]

Council Committee To Talk Healthy Food In MCPS — County council members, MCPS officials and the founders of the Real Food for Kids-Montgomery group will meet Thursday morning in a hearing to talk about making MCPS cafeteria menus healthier. Important topics will likely include critics’ labeling of MCPS chicken nuggets, pizza and hot dogs as “junk food,” a claim MCPS disputes. The hearing starts at 10 a.m. and will be broadcast live on County Cable Montgomery and the County Council website. [Montgomery County Council]
