Police Investigate Apparent Accidental Shooting In Tilden Lane Neighborhood

Shooting at Danville Drive in Rockville

Montgomery County Police on Saturday are investigating an apparent accidental shooting at a home in Rockville.

Police were called at 1:36 a.m. to a home in the 11600 block of Danville Drive for a report of a shooting, according to Montgomery County Police Officer Rebecca Innocenti, a MCP spokesperson.

Police are investigating it as an accidental shooting, Innocenti said. The man who was shot is a 22-year-old who is in serious condition. The man who shot the gun is known to the victim, Innocenti said, though he left the scene and police are trying to contact him Saturday morning.

Police remained on the scene Saturday. The driveway to the home remained taped off and the garage door was open. According to scanner reports, the victim was transported to Suburban Hospital.

The home is in a neighborhood off Tilden Lane and near Old Georgetown Road.
