These are the stories that sparked the most reader interest in 2013. Check back Tuesday for the top restaurant news of the year as we inch toward 2014.

No. 5 | Cheesecake Factory Moving From White Flint To Montgomery Mall | 4,064 views: The chain restaurant’s move from one of the area’s major malls to its competitor was about more than the relocation of a restaurant. It was another sign of the change coming to White Flint, which has plans to redevelop into a mixed use town center in the future. Most of the mall is vacant in preparation for demolition. Meanwhile, Westfield Montgomery is in the process of extensive renovations — doubling down on the suburban mall concept.

No. 4 | Late Night Mail Delivery Surprises Chevy Chase Residents | 4,237 views: A change in managers at the Postal Service apparently was behind 10 p.m. home mail deliveries that had some residents a little concerned.

No. 3 | Man Charged In Double Stabbing At Montgomery Mall | 4,511 views: An apparent road rage incident in a Westfield Montgomery Mall parking lot turned ugly in November when a Potomac man stabbed two people before fleeing to the top of a nearby parking garage.

No. 2 | Police Shut Down Bethesda Spa Accused Of Prostitution 10,363 views: A nail salon and spa in the heart of Woodmont Triangle was the scene of some seedy behavior, according to police. Detectives used online ads to shut down a number of county spas they said were offering prostitution on the side — something that wasn’t lost on some customers of the spa on St Elmo Avenue.

No. 1 | Group Says Gym Ad Is Sexist, Demands Gym Take It Down | 18,679 views: The story of a racy building ad at the Equinox Gym on Bethesda Row got major attention when a local group started an online petition to have the company take it down. It wasn’t the first time Equinox was criticized for its marketing style. But in family-oriented Bethesda, it created a lot of debate about sexist imagery and political correctness.
