Minimum Wage Bill Passes Test, But Final Hurdle Awaits — A bill that would raise the minimum wage in Montgomery County to $11.50 per hour by 2016 made it out of a Council Committee and bill supporters claim it has the five necessary votes to pass the full Council on Tuesday. But County Executive Isiah Leggett now says he’s in favor of raising the wage to $10.75 per hour by 2016. The $11.50 number would tie the wage to a price index to keep price with inflation. Second Graders Flood Strathmore For Field Trips — This week, all MCPS second graders attended (or will today attend) performances by the National Philharmonic at the Music Center at Strathmore.
