Before the firefighters of MCFRS Recruit Class 37 head off to their assigned stations, they had to go through the “Grand Finale” training event.

The recruits are tasked with more than 50 different call types throughout the 56-acre training ground at the Fire & Rescue Training Academy in Rockville to test their fire/EMS training.

For 11 hours, the recruits have to handle real building fires and car fires and mock situations such as sick people, assaults a baby delivery in a car.

The members of the largest recruit class in the history of MCFRS are now finishing their training before going to assigned stations across the county.
