Music Trio To Get Honor For Work With Wounded Warriors

Maryland Comptroller Peter FranchotA classical music group that plays for wounded warriors in Bethesda every Friday will get an award from Comptroller Peter Franchot this week at the Walter Reed Military Medical Center.

Trio Galilei, a trio of musicians who have performed for veterans in outpatient care since 2008, will receive the 2013 William Donald Schaefer Helping People Award for Montgomery County, named after the former governor, Baltimore mayor and comptroller.

The award is in its second year. Franchot’s office created it to “recognize individuals and organizations in each county and Baltimore City best exemplifying Schaefer’s lifelong commitment to helping people.”

The ceremony will happen at 11 a.m. on Friday in the Warrior Cafe/Building 62 of Naval Support Activity Bethesda.
