Man Breaks Into Unoccupied Mansion, Claims It For The “Moorish Nation” — A man named Lamont Butler got into an unoccupied $6 million Bethesda mansion on the market from real estate agent Jordan Fainberg and claimed that he rightfully owned it based on a treaty in the 1700s. Police arrested him for breaking into the house and fraudulently trying to steal it. There was no property damage. [Washington Post]

Geithner Puts Bethesda Home On The Market — Former U.S. Treasury Secretary did not break into his Bethesda home in the 5700 block of Ogden Road. As far as we know, he rightfully owned it and has now put it up on the market. He stands to make $45,000 on the nearly $1 million house with four bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. [Curbed DC]

Amended Gas Tax Bill Could Go To House Vote This Week — The Maryland State House’s Ways and Means Committee approved an amended transportation plan that would raise gas tax prices slightly but more gradually than originally proposed in Gov. Martin O’Malley’s plan. [Washington Post]
