Kings, Rangers headed to OT in Game 1

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The New York Rangers and the Los Angeles Kings went to overtime tied 2-2 in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals on Wednesday night.

Benoit Pouliot scored on a breakaway and Carl Hagelin got a short-handed goal in the first period for the Rangers.

Kyle Clifford had a goal and an assist, and Drew Doughty scored the tying goal in the second period as the Kings overcame yet another early deficit.

Los Angeles outshot New York 20-3 in the third period, but couldn’t get a winning goal past Henrik Lundqvist, who made 39 saves in regulation.

Jonathan Quick had 23 saves for the Kings.
