Pa. man arrested after loaded gun found at BWI

BALTIMORE (AP) — A Pennsylvania man has been arrested at the Baltimore-Washington airport after a loaded gun was found in his carry-on bag.

The Transportation Security Administration says its officers found the .40-caliber semi-automatic handgun in a carry-on Monday as it went through an X-ray machine. It had eight rounds in it.

The man who had the gun was not identified, but TSA says he’s from Hidden Valley, Pennsylvania, in Somerset County. He was arrested on a state weapons charge. The gun was confiscated.

The TSA says the gun is the seventh that officers have found at a BWI checkpoint so far this year. Nationwide, TSA officers have found more than 1,400 guns at airport checkpoints this year.
