2 shot, 1 fatally, at east Baltimore block party

BALTIMORE (AP) — Police say two people were shot, one fatally, while attending a block party in northeast Baltimore.

Police say shots were fired late Saturday night, shortly before midnight, at the intersection of Cecil Avenue and 22nd Street. Twenty-nine-year-old Kevin Bass Jr. was taken to a hospital, where he died. A female victim walked into the emergency room at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she was treated for multiple gunshot wounds and is expected to survive.

Police say Bass and the woman were attending a block party near the intersection of 22nd Street and Cecil Avenue. Investigators haven’t released further details.
