Missing Va. kayaker’s body recovered

WASHINGTON — The body of a Woodbridge, Virginia kayaker was pulled from the Potomac Monday morning, three weeks after he disappeared while paddling with a friend.

Jeryl Dickerson and his friend originally set out to cross the Potomac from Hague, Virginia to St. Mary’s County, according to ABC7.

Dickerson’s friend says he left Dickerson by a navigational light when the 22 year old became fatigued with plans to get a powerboat and return.

When the friend returned, Dickerson was gone, ABC7 reports. The Coast Guard found Dickerson’s empty kayak near where the two men set out.

The body is at the Medical Examiner’s office.

Maryland Natural Resources Police continue to investigate the incident.
