WASHINGTON – A Charles County liquor store sold one of two jackpot-winning Mega Millions tickets, according to the Maryland Lottery.
The lottery says one of the winning tickets for the $414 million jackpot was purchased at the Lady’s Liquors in La Plata. The other winning ticket was purchased in Florida.
The total cash payout will be $230.9 million. After federal and state taxes, each winner could walk walk away with about $76 million.
Maryland will recoup more than $10 million in tax revenue from the winning ticket. And Lady’s Liquors will receive a $100,000 commission, according to the lottery.
The numbers on the Maryland ticket were picked manually.
The numbers were 11, 19, 24, 33 and 51, and the Mega Ball was 7.
The jackpot was the third-largest in Mega Millions history, the lottery says, and eight other tickets won $1 million each.
According to the Maryland Lottery, one of those $1 million ticket was sold at Waterbury Liquors in Crownsville.
The winners should sign the back of their ticket and keep it in a safe place until the winner claims the prize in person. Winners have 182 days to claim their winnings at lottery headquarters in Baltimore, according to the lottery.
