UPDATE: Thursday – 5/2/2013, 10:11 p.m. ET

LAUREL, Md. – WTOP has learned the names of the two people found dead in a Laurel apartment.

Prince George’s County police tell WTOP the victims are JJ Ferguson and Tina Towler.

Earlier, Ferguson’s brother, Paul Young, also told WTOP it was his brother who’d been killed.

Young says Ferguson liked to crack jokes and was always cheerful.

“I’d like to remember him as being a humble individual that would help anyone. Give the shirt off his back or a little change when someone needed it,” Young says.

Both stabbing victims suffered multiple signs of trauma, said Julie Parker, spokeswoman for the Prince George’s County Police Department.

WASHINGTON – Police are searching for a suspect in the killing of two people who were discovered at a Laurel, Md. apartment Thursday morning.

A police source tells WTOP that the two were stabbed.

There were reports of shouts and an argument at the residence in Montpelier Crossing apartments around 5 a.m., police say.

Around 8:30 a.m., a caregiver who helps a woman at the home with cerebral palsy arrived and found the two people dead.

Prince George’s County Police spokeswoman Julie Parker says police entered the apartment and found the bodies of the two adults.

The disabled woman, the daughter of the female victim, was found alive and uninjured. Parker says the woman is a paraplegic and has cerebral palsy.

“It’s difficult if not impossible for her to talk,” Parker said.

The woman with cerebral palsy was taken to a hospital and evaluated. Police say she’s fine.

Police say there have been three emergency calls from the home in the past, the most recent was a 911 hangup in March.

The police have not released the identities of the victims.

WTOP will update this story as more information becomes available.
