Fake speed cameras used to slow drivers in Laurel

WASHINGTON — As an effort to deter speeding, authorities in Laurel, Md. deployed fake speed cameras on Wednesday, reports NBC 4.

However, some Laurel residents requested speed cameras in their neighborhoods.

Laurel Police Chief Richard McLaughlin purchased the “decoy boxes” in an effort to slow drivers down.
