Lt. governor candidates in Maryland to debate

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — The candidates for lieutenant governor of Maryland are scheduled to debate.

Democrat Ken Ulman and Republican Boyd Rutherford will debate on WAMU’s “Kojo Nnamdi Show” on Thursday afternoon.

Ulman is in his second term as county executive of Howard County. Rutherford, an attorney, served as the secretary of the Maryland Department of General Services in former Gov. Robert Ehrlich’s administration. He also worked as associate administrator for the U.S. General Services Administration and as assistant secretary for administration at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Ulman is Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown’s running mate. Rutherford is on the ticket with Larry Hogan.
