Md. man charged in DC homicide

WASHINGTON (AP) — D.C. police have charged a Maryland man with killing a man who was found injured in the southeast section of the city.

Officers say on May 24, police found 46-year-old Jeffrey Coleman of Hyattsville, Maryland, unconscious and bleeding from the face. He was taken to a local hospital.

Police say Coleman died of his injuries on Sept. 18. The medical examiner said cause of death was complications of a blunt force injury to the head; the manner was ruled a homicide.

On Wednesday, police arrested 28-year-old Melvin Kenneth George of Oxon Hill, Maryland. He is charged with second-degree murder in Coleman’s death.
