School teacher charged with visual surveillance

WASHINGTON — A Montgomery County school teacher has been arrested and charged for spying on a teenage girl that lived in his home.

Darrien Lamont Tucker, who lives along Deborah Drive in Potomac, has been charged with five counts of conducting visual surveillance of another person in a private place without consent.

The girl is an 18-year-old foreign exchange student. Tucker, 39, teaches physical education at the McLean School of Maryland in Potomac.

On May 27 and 28, the girl said she noticed an Apple iPad being slid under her bathroom door. She then began to bring her phone into the bathroom to record what was happening as she showered. The girl’s phone captured the iPad being slid underneath the bathroom door the next two days.

On May 31, the girl placed a video camera in the hallway outside the bathroom door. On Tuesday, Montgomery County police arrested Tucker, who is being held without bond.

Those with further information should call (240) 773-6710.
