Prince George’s police arrest man for attempted kidnapping

WASHINGTON – A Clinton man faces an attempted kidnapping charge after he chased a young girl on her way to school Monday morning.

Anthony D. Logan, 53, also faces related charges of second-degree assault and trespassing, according to Prince George’s County Police.

Police say the third-grade girl was walking to school when she saw Logan. She ran into a neighbor’s yard to get away from him, but Logan chased the girl as she continued toward James Ryder Randall Elementary School.

Logan grabbed the girl’s bookbag but she was able to get away safely to the school. A school official called police, who quickly began searching the neighborhood for the man who chased the girl, police say.

Police say that Officer Ariel Acosta remembered a resident who matched the man’s description and found him at his home. That man was identified as Logan.
