Georgetown’s Mie N Yu closes after nearly 10 years

WASHINGTON – Mie N Yu, an Asian fusion restaurant known for its elaborate decor just as much as its food, has closed after nearly 10 years on M Street in Georgetown.

The closing was announced on Sunday night on its Twitter account, along with a message giving no details about why it’s closing on its website.

“Thank you for dining with us, for welcoming us into your organizations, for spending a few extra moments with us at the bar. We’ll certainly miss being a part of Georgetown’s vibrant community,” the message reads.

The restaurant was known for its elaborate, Asian-inspired decor. Including its bathrooms, which are currently in the running for Cintas’ America’s Best Restroom contest.

The voting for the contest is until Oct. 26, and the winner will be announced later this fall.
