FAIRFAX, Va. – Confused about when to vote, how to register or what the rules are for an absentee ballot?

The rules are different in D.C., Maryland and Virginia. But now there’s one website to get all the answers, and check voter registration status.

Fairfax County Registrar of Voters Cameron Quinn says it gets confusing for those new to the area or moving from one local jurisdiction to another. But the website metrodcvote.org makes the process as simple as a few clicks.

“It gets confusing for people in this area because it’s one media market and three different sets of rules,” says Quinn.

For example, the deadline to register to vote for the upcoming November election is different in Maryland, D.C. and Virginia.
