Airports Authority consultant made more than retreats cost

WASHINGTON – Imagine making about $7,000 an hour to talk about “change.”

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, the agency overseeing the Dulles Rail Project, paid consultant Gregory Shea that to to lead discussions at annual board retreats.

Shea is a Pennsylvania consultant who specializes in organizational change and conflict resolution.

He’s received a total of $173,000 since 2010 as part of a trio of no-bid contracts, The Examiner reports.

The airports authority paid more for his services than for the retreats where he spoke.
