MoCo grads leave with millions in scholarship money

ROCKVILLE, Md. – In Montgomery County, the class of 2012 is leaving high school with nearly $240 million in scholarships.

In addition to the scholarships and academic awards, 18 percent received honors for meritorious service, logging 1.65 million community service hours.

A news release from the school system also boasts the following honors:

  • 141 National Merit finalists
  • 20 National Hispanic Recognition finalists
  • 19 National Achievement finalists
