Pedestrian struck, killed at Prince George’s school

WASHINGTON – A female pedestrian has been struck and killed in the parking lot of a Prince George’s County elementary school, police say.

Prince George’s County police say the woman was hit in the parking lot of Samuel Chase Elementary School Fisher Road in Temple Hills, Md. County fire department spokesman Mark Brady says rescuers responded at about 11:15 a.m. and found the woman trapped under a vehicle.

Firefighters used air bags to lift the vehicle off the woman and remove her from underneath it. But Brady says the woman’s injuries were too severe, and she was pronounced dead.

Brady says the woman was not involved with the school, and there was no child involved in the incident. County schools are closed to students Monday for a teacher planning day.
