Redskin Joe Theismann’s predictions, surprising appearance

(1/4)

WASHINGTON – Former Redskins great Joe Theismann is making predictions about the team’s upcoming season and how they’ll fare against the Houston Texans Sunday.

“I think this defense could be a top five defense and I’m excited about this season,” Theismann says predicting the team tucks 10 wins under its belt.

The team will beat the Texans, Theismann predicts.

“I think people are going to be pleasantly surprised with what they’re going to see on the football field against the Houston Texans. This is going to be a good football team.”

He says his previous comment about Kirk Cousins deserving to start was based only on what fans had seen in the preseason.

Theismann says Robert Griffin III’s versatility will be what delivers the team wins as he eases into becoming a pocket passer.

“This aspect of his game is just in the developmental stages. Once he feels more comfortable in the pocket and then you put him outside? What do defenses want to do against him? He’s an incredible talent, an incredible athlete.”

Meanwhile, Theismann is enjoying a one of a kind experience seeing his face on the front of a double-decker tour bus.

“I’m overwhelmed and humbled they chose me to be the face on a bus.”

Because of his history in Washington sports and his dedication to St. Jude’s Charity, the Ride of Fame company chose Theismann to grace its first bus in D.C.

The company started in New York four years ago.

“So it’s going to be on, its permanent I’m stuck on a bus I guess you could say,” he jokes.
