Fittipaldi wins Petit Le Mans pole

BRASELTON, Ga. (AP) — Christian Fittipaldi won the pole Friday for the IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship’s Petit Le Mans on Saturday at Road Atlanta.

Fittipaldi, teaming with Joao Barbosa and Sebastien Bourdais in the No. 5 Action Express Racing Corvette DP, had a fast lap of 122.725 mph. Fittipaldi and Barbosa lead the Prototype season standings.

Ricky Taylor was second, 0.289 seconds back in the No. 10 Konica Minolta Corvette DP also driven by brother Jordan Taylor and Max Angelelli.

Nick Tandy took the GT Le Mans pole at 116.707 mph in the No. 911 Porsche North America Porsche 911 RSR.

Former Formula One driver Giancarlo Fisichella was second in the No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari F458 Italia.

In GT Daytona, James Davison led at 111.168 in the TRG-AMR Aston Martin Vantage. Jack Hawksworth topped the Prototype Challenge field at 119.984 in RSR Racing’s No. 08 entry.
